FAQ SECTION
Do I need to be a runner to participate?
Not at all! You may run or walk at your own pace. While the event is timed and awards will be given, all fitness levels are welcome.
Is the CPAR YPN 5K timed?
Yes. The 5K will be chip-timed, and winners will be recognized across multiple age group divisions.
How is the color administered along the course?
Designated color stations will be set up along the route. Volunteers will toss colorful powder as participants pass through, with each station featuring a different color theme.
Is the color run safe?
Yes. The color powder is non-toxic and safe. Volunteers are trained to apply color responsibly, and participant safety is a priority throughout the event.
What if I don’t want to get covered in color powder?
While we can’t guarantee a color-free experience, participants who prefer minimal color may stay to the side of color stations to reduce exposure.
What is the color powder made of? Will it stain my clothes?
The color powder is made from cornstarch and food-grade dyes. It typically washes out, but participants should wear clothing and shoes they don’t mind getting colorful. Wash items promptly after the event for best results.
How does the color affect the inside of cars?
Many participants bring towels or a change of clothes for the ride home to protect car interiors from leftover color powder.
Do the color zones affect vision or breathing?
The powder is non-toxic and free of heavy metals. Volunteers aim low to avoid faces. Participants may choose to wear sunglasses, goggles, or a bandana for added comfort.
Are phones and cameras safe in the color zones?
We recommend using a protective case or dust wrap for phones and cameras, as fine powder can get into small openings.
What happens if there is bad weather?
Light rain will not stop the event and may even make the colors brighter. Any necessary updates will be communicated to registered participants.
Are strollers allowed?
Yes, strollers are welcome. Please use caution near color stations and in crowded areas.
Are pets allowed?
No. For the safety of all participants, pets are not permitted.
